If your toddler-aged child broke something expensive that belonged to your teenager would you replace it?

Perhaps they could help you with the cost of repairs. This seems most fair to me. You did not leave the laptop in reach of a toddler, the nanny placed a toddler in reach of your laptop. I understand that its not your parents fault but it was not exactly yours either. Especially since if they had not talked you into coming over the incident would not have taken place. I would help my son with the repairs if it was he and i in this situation. This is one of those unfortunate cirstances that really isn't anyones fault but i understand how important a laptop can be to someone.
