Homemade way to kill the bugs eating my flowers?

ok they are eating my , dahlias, they are eating the leaves and starting on the newly budding flowers , and nibbling on near by , flowers like the glads, and the new era , bush what can i spray , that is natural or put down to keep em from munching i have little dogs that love to smell the flowers and the walk by em so i dont want chemicals, what can i do help!!!!
