If any person forget the pword of sys dba can he / she login to database?

if the person forget the above pword the oracle database will not allow him to enter the database and do certain modification so in this case what step should we follow to enter database otherwise we should creat a new database or copy old datafile in it which are the best option for this cirstance awating for reply
