Two questions: I broke a lug screw on my car. Is driving on 4 out of 5 lug screws safe?

My other question: I bought another lug screw. Is replacing it easy? It looks like I just take my brake shoe off, hammer out the broken one and hammer in the new one. Or is it more complicated than that?
